14.7 Megapixel Panasonic Lumix

Panasonic has just introduced the DMC-FX150, a pocket camera with 14.7 megapixels.  It has all the currently popular features, face recognition, automatic ISO selection, optical image stabilization etc and has an MSRP of $399.

A little too much in my opinion, since you can get Rebel XT cameras for about the same money.  But wait, you say, aren’t those only 8 megapixel?  Yes… and although this probably has been said enough, it should be said again… more megapixels does not necessarily mean a better picture.  Very transparent, this effort on Panasonic’s behalf to fool people.
